Balgowan, Wardang Island and the surrounding waters of the Spencer Gulf hold excellent reserves of the premium table fish, Snapper and King George Whiting. Other species include Shark, Snook, Squid, Gar and more.

For those planning a trip targetting Snapper, please avoid the month of November, as PIR South Australia close all waters for Snapper fishing during the breeding season.

Balgowan Fishing Charters has been granted an exemption to the standard recreational  bag limits.  The following fishing charter boat limits apply;
 -  Ruggers (Snapper between 38 - 60 cm) the greater of 30 per trip or 5 per person onboard
 -  Adult Snapper (60+ cm) the greater of 6 per trip or 1 per person onboard
 -  King George Whiting (31+ cm) 10 per person

Rods equipped with Shimano bait runners are supplied, along with all bait and quality tackle.

Your catch will be kept on an icy slurry to ensure freshness and quality eating.
